The punters who track their bets are the punters who improve. This free spreadsheet does the tracking for you. Log every bet, and it automatically calculates your strike rate, total profit or loss, and return on investment. After 50 bets, the patterns become obvious. After 100, they become undeniable.
A ready-made spreadsheet with automatic stats. Just fill in the rows and let the formulas do the work.

Ask most punters how they did last month and you will get "not bad" or "about even." Press them for actual numbers and they have no idea. That is because memory is a terrible accountant. We remember the winners and conveniently forget the losers.
A diary fixes that. It gives you cold, honest numbers. You cannot argue with a spreadsheet. If your strike rate is 28% and your average odds are 4/1, you are making money. If your strike rate is 18% at the same odds, you are not, no matter how many good afternoons you remember.
More importantly, a diary shows you where you make and lose money. You might discover that you are profitable on all-weather handicaps but losing consistently on turf sprints. Or that your Saturday bets are disciplined but your midweek punts are reckless. Without records, you would never know.
Each row is one bet. The columns capture everything you need:
The stats panel at the top updates automatically as you add rows. It shows your total bets, winners, strike rate, total staked, total returned, overall profit or loss, and ROI percentage. You do not need to calculate anything yourself.
In Google Sheets: Upload the file to your Google Drive and open it with Google Sheets. It will convert automatically and all the formulas work. You can then access it from any device.
In Excel or LibreOffice: Just open the file and start filling in rows. Save it somewhere you will not lose it.
Fill in every bet, win or lose. The diary is only useful if it is honest. A diary full of winners you remembered but missing the losers you forgot is worse than no diary at all, because it gives you false confidence.
Once you have enough data, ask yourself these questions:
What is my strike rate? For dutching, 40-50% is solid. For singles at bigger prices, 20-30% can still be profitable if the average odds are high enough.
Am I profitable overall? Look at the P/L total. If it is negative after 100 bets, something in your approach needs to change. If it is positive, look at what is working and do more of it.
Where am I losing? Filter by bet type or sort by P/L. Are your dutches profitable but your singles losing? Are your midweek bets costing you? The data will tell you.
Am I staking consistently? If your stakes are all over the place, read the Betting Bank Blueprint and get your staking under control before anything else.
The diary tracks your results. These calculators help you make better decisions before you place the bet.
